Enamel Jewelery
Enamel , is a material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 degree C (1,380 and 1,560 degree F). The powder melts, flows,and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating on gold. By using traditional enameling techniques, we craft our jewellery with passion. We strive to continue the art of producing enamel jewelry to preserve our heritage and culture. Thus producing fine pieces of wearable art. Every piece of the jewelry were so unique as the craftsmen gently laid the design to create an embossed depth with pleasing colors and feminine nuance. In the 1950's Enamel Jewelry were very popular among the Chinese population. The local craftsmen fabricate these classic design in 20 carat gold Motifs of floral baskets, grapes, birds like peacocks and phoenix were commonly made into pendants. Earrings were usually in 'hong boey' shape (phoenix tail in Hokkien ).
